Information & FAQs

Hi, I'm Dr. Nuzzo. Naprapathic manual medicine and chiropractic medicine started together back in 1906. The founders were actually together. Oakley Smith who founded naprapathic medicine was a protege of D.D. Palmer who started chiropractic medicine. The philosophy, the education of the professions is almost identical. What broke the professions apart is what naprapaths treat and what they focus on. Naprapaths are classified as connective tissue specialists. We focus on ligaments which hold bone to bone, tendons which hold muscle to bone, but the most prevalent connective tissue is called fascia or interstitial tissue. Naprapaths don't use high velocity adjustments on the bony structure to bring alignment. Naprapaths work through the muscle into the connective tissue to take specific tension findings on the ligaments and the bony structure to then bring alignment. We are licensed and regulated in New Mexico by the medical board. We are essential healthcare providers. We treat two out of the top ten reasons that people go and see their doctors. Number two being joint pain, number three being back pain.
